Nicotine is a true addiction that may feel good to young people when they use it but nicotine has been shown to have lasting negative effects on learning, memory, and concentration.  Vaping nicotine can also intensify symptoms of depression and anxiety and increase stress levels.

Because their brains are still developing, young people have a higher risk of becoming addicted to the nicotine in tobacco products than adults.

Before you even sit down with your child or the young adult who you want to quit vaping, get talking points for HOW to have the talk.

Popular vapes right now have high amounts of nicotine. A growing adolescent brain is more susceptible to nicotine addiction. There are several free resources so you don't have to tackle this issue by yourself.

- Connect your child to free cessation programs led by Quit Coaches who have been trained on how to work with young people to help them quit vaping, smoking or using any type of nicotine product.

- Talk to your child’s healthcare provider for advice on quitting, including whether quit smoking medications (also called Nicotine Replacement Therapy) may help your child.
